Wavi Island Resort Fiji has offered 5 luxury villas on the prize list of a raffle where tickets are selling at USD $19 a piece. Each of the 5 villas are valued at USD $5 million.
The exclusive, Australian-owned property spans 27 acres and is joined to mainland Vanua Levu (Fiji’s second largest island) by a 300-metre bridge. Publicist, Lynn Malone confirmed that winners would each receive a new villa and lifestyle package, with the island offering a prospective, permanent home or holiday retreat with rental income. Each prize is a custom-designed, 3-bedroom pavilion-style villa, with a swimming pool and landscaped grounds.
They include interior and poolside furnishings, household appliances, kitchenware and towels and linen. The winning packages extend to 2 fully paid return airfare trips for the winner and guest, airport transfers, meals and activities to visit Wavi Island Resort for the duration of the villas’ construction, with a second trip to receive the keys and take ownership of the villa upon completion of construction and fit out.
Boat moorings will also be provided at the Wavi Island Resort marina, as well as the use of resort facilities and amenities. Also included is a lifetime rental revenue stream if owners choose to place their villa in the Wavi Island Resort holiday rental pool. Malone confirmed that there would be no property transfer fees, management fees or costs to the 5 winners, who will have access to in-house chefs and hospitality staff.
“There are five 3-bedroom villas (AUD$6.3 million-dollar value each) are being raffled and a total of 1.5 million raffle tickets (AUD$25 dollars) sold worldwide (300,000 raffle tickets per villa).
“When the initial 300,000 tickets are sold, the first winner will be drawn with the next four winners drawn in 300,000 ticket sales increments.”
In early 2016, Wavi Island’s signature villa was due to be sold to the highest bidder without reserve via Platinum Luxury Auctions, a Miami, US-based firm centred on the sale of unique and exotic properties. The ocean-front villa had an asking price of USD $2.9 million and was due to be sold ahead of 19 remaining oceanfront lots, which were previously listed from USD $1 million to $1.89 million each.
Interested parties who wanted to buy in were, however, unable to visit the island, located near Savusavu Town, and the island’s owner exercised his right to withdraw the property from auction.
The island’s Australian owner has long preferred anonymity.
Wavi Island Resort Fiji has been managed by Josh Warner since its first villa was completed three years ago, and to mark its recent anniversary, has announced a $2 chance for enthusiasts to log onto its website to partake in a competition for a $20,000 holiday at the resort property.
