Bali houses have long been a favoured architectural style for tropical settings and at Taveuni Estates, the owners of a rare Balinese home in the area have listed the ocean view property for a generous USD $200,000.
“This Balinese-style residence has two baths and was designed to complement its natural surroundings,” said realtor Stephen Noble, of Noble Realty. Perched on a hill with expansive ocean views, the property is solar powered and includes a swimming pool, furniture, appliances, outdoor showers and backup generator. Noble said lofty ceilings with Fijian hardwood rafters and handcrafted rattan insets added a vernacular ambience to the house.
“Folding doors open to connect indoor and outdoor living spaces that invite cool breezes and provide unrestricted ocean views. The handcrafted entry doors open into a spacious foyer and an open-plan interior, featuring polished hardwood floors throughout.
“The living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and take advantage of sweeping ocean and sunset views. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, gas oven, range and microwave.” Each of the two master suites offer en suite bathrooms and private, outdoor showers. “This vacation home is offered fully furnished, complete with linen and cookware.”
The property is nestled atop an acre of Freehold, with an infinity-style pool detached bure, and gardens on a hillside above the island’s main coastal road. Noble added that the house had 180-degree views to the North, West and South, across the Somosomo Strait, towards the neighbouring island of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island.
“From the house, the coastal road leads North, about a kilometre to the Taveuni Dive Resort, which residents of Taveuni Estates have access to. Fresh water and garbage collection are also provided by the management of Taveuni Estates, while electricity is solar generated, with an onsite back-up generator and homeowner association rates also offered.”
Known as the garden island of Fiji, Taveuni has long been a favourite a hub of villas and resort homes, many of them nestled on Freehold, waterfront and put on the letting market or used as holiday retreats by their owners. Noble Realty has operated in the area for over a decade, listing properties on the island and in nearby Savusavu and the neighbouring island of Qamea.
