A coveted, capital city CBD site has been offered to the public by the Suva City Council, which aims to redevelop the Suva Central car park through a private public partnership.
he site faces the Suva Harbour, along Stinson parade, with plans including a hotel. “
The proposed projected development is to include hotel accommodation, a roof top modern designed restaurant and car parking facilities,” stated Council CEO, Bijay Chand.
“Suva City Council is further interested to work with a private partner, who apart from offering a good rate of returns, is prepared to invest qualitatively to ensure that the development has unique architectural characteristics.”
Bordered by Central St, Stinson Parade and Regal Lane, the site is legally known as Lot 2, DP3616 with a total land area spanning 1897m2.
The proposed PPP is expected to draw significant interest, considering the capital as a hub for regional banks, financial institutions, international development agencies, inter government agencies, NGOs, regional and national universities, Government’s ministerial headquarters and major corporate entities.
The Suva City Council noted that all Expressions of Interest need to be submitted with a proposed concept design for the subject area, estimated project investment, the names of all parties and the lead party of official representation (for consortiums or syndicates), financial benefits that the project could yield for the Council (including premium and annual rental) and details of any similar projects undertaken by applicants.
