The Construction Industry Council (CIC) will work getting more than three hundred construction companies in the country to be licensed.
CIC President Gordon Jenkins says this will be a challenge.
“There are some major issues like standards. There is a major issue like licencing of builders and others and licencing of people in the construction industry. It’s not just the builders but everybody.”
He says licencing of companies will be later discussed during the council’s main conference in April.
He says licencing contractors and those in the industry will help the council monitor companies, their services and their performances in the years to come.
Jenkins says the council will inform its members about this so they can come prepared to the conference and give their views on the matter as well.
