More than 100 residential and five commercial lots are expected to be developed near Nausori Town soon.

Hexagon Group of Hotels chairman, Hafizud Khan, after signing the contract with Cope Construction Limited on Friday, said this would be the last freehold development site along the Suva-Nausori corridor.

The Vitivou Estates is being developed by Hexagon Group of Hotels.

He said the commercial lots would include a shopping centre, shops and a conference room, which could accommodate more than 500 people.

“The biggest commercial lot in fact we are developing ourselves, which is the shopping plaza nearly 3000 square metres so it is quite big,” he said.

“We will have a supermarket space at the bottom – 14 shops and a large conference room upstairs around 550 sitter.”

Mr Khan said the financial value of the development was expected to be around $8.2million.

He said plans were also underway to build a four-star hotel at the site to accommodate visitors or tourists coming in from the Nausori International Airport.

“The road going inside on the left there are plans to build a hotel next year to cater for the airport and visiting relatives and friends from overseas and plans are also underway to build a fast food franchise,” Mr Khan said.
