Agents at Fiji’s first National Real Estate Workshop have vouched to form an association that will represent their needs and concerns to the Real Estate Agents Licensing Board (REALB).
About 62 realtors and realty representatives gathered for the meet on Monday, where agents indicated their interest to form an association during the workshop’s closing session.
Prior to this, Industry and Trade Minister, Faiyaz Koya, also urged such a union, saying it would foster their interests.
“The real estate agents need to have an active Association that will advance the interests of the industry collectively,” he said.
“The Association should also allow for self-regulating and self-disciplining of the industry. It is imperative that we have a vibrant real estate industry with a high level of professionalism, expertise, integrity and quality in the real estate industry.
“The real estate industry, like other developed professional services, such as legal and medical professions, should develop a strong ethical and professional standard through their Association,” he urged.
